First of all, let us praise to the Almighty Allah SWT, because of His Blessing we are able to attend this English speech contest. Secondly, may peace be upon the prophet Muhammad Saw who has guided us from the darkness era to the brightness era. I would also like to say many thanks to the juries and MC who have given me opportunity to deliver an English speech in front of you all.

Ladies and Gentlemen…

In this day, I will take a speech about “How to Face Globalization Era”. As we all know, nowadays our world is in globalization era. We often hear it. Globalization is the process of transformation of local o regional phenomena into global or international phenomena. This process is a combination of economic, technological, sociocultural and political forces. In other words, every country in this world can influence other countries. Because of globalization, this world which consists of many countries is like “a global village”. This term refers to the fact that people are considered to live in this planet without borders, without limitation. People are able to access any kinds of information easily. There is no difficulty to communicate, there is no barrier to interact with other people from all over the world.

Brothers and sisters…
Globalization has various aspects which affect the world, such as: in industry, finance, economy, politics, technology, and socio-culture. If our country wants to survive in this globalization era, we must be smart people. We should take all of the positive effects of globalization and we should not take the negative effects. For example: we need to adopt and learn high technology from developed country in order to develop our country. On the contrary, we must not imitate bad attitudes or behaviors from other countries like free sex and drugs abuse.

Brothers and sisters…

It is a fact that there are many challenges in globalization era. It cannot be denied that globalization is related with competition and the ability to survive. The question is: what should we do in order to face the globalization era? The first one is, build up and strengthen good characters based on the religion. If we are Moslem, the guide of our lives is Islam. Second, we must master technology in order to develop our country. The last, always be ready to face any kinds of change and competition by preparing and upgrading our skills.

Assalmu'alaikum Wr. Wb.

Yang pertama, marikita panjatkan puji syukur kepada Allah SWT yang maha kuasa, karen rahmat-NYA kita bisa hadir di kontes bahasa Inggris ini. Yang kedua, semoga kedamaian selalu berada pada nabi Muhamad SAW yang telah menuntun kita dari jaman kegelapan ke jaman terang benerang. Saya juga ingin mengucapkan banyak terimakasih kepada juri dan MC yang memberikan kesempatan untuk menyampaikan sebuah pidato bahasa Inggris di hadapan kalian semua.

Hadirin yang terhormat...
Pada hari ini, saya akan membawakan sebuah pidato tentang "bagaiman menghadapi era globalisasi". Sebagaimana kita ketahui, sekarang ini dunia kita berada pada era globalisasi. Kita sering mendengar itu. Globalisasi adalah proses transformasi dari penomena-penomena loka atau regional ke penomena-penomena glbal atau internasional. Proses ini adalah sebuah kombinasi dari kekuatan ekonomi, tekhnologi, sosialkultural, dan politik. Dengan kata lain, setiap negara di dunia ini dapat berpengaruh kepada negara-negara yang lain. Karena globalisasi, dunia ini yang terdiri dari banyak negara seperti "sebuah desa global". Istilah ini mengacu kepada fakta bahwa manusia dianggap untuk hidup di planet ini tanpa adanya pemisah, tanpa adanya batas. Manusia dapat mengakses berbagai macam jenis informasi secara mudah. Tidak ada kesulitan untuk berkomunikasi, tidak ada halangan untuk berinteraksi dengan orang lain dari seluruh dunia.

Globalisasi mempunyai banyak aspek yand mempengaruhi dunia, seperti dalam industri, keuangan, ekonomi, politik, tekhnologi, dan sosial-kultural. Jika negara kita ingin bertahan di dalam era globalisasi ini, kita harus menjadi orang yang pintar. Kita harus mengambil semua dampak positif dari glabalisasi dan kita tidak harus mengambil dampak negatifnya. Contohnya: kita butuh mengadopsi dan belajar tekhnologi tinggi dari negara maju agar bisa mengembangkan negara kita. Tetapi, kita mesti tidak meniru kebiasaan atau kelakuan buruk dari negara-negara lain seperti seks bebas dan obat-obatan.

Ini adalah sebuah fakta bahwa terdapat banya tantangan di globalisasi era. Itu tidak dapat ditolak bahwa globalisasi bersangkut-paut dengan kompetisi dan kemampuan untuk bertahan. Pertanyaannya adalah : Apa yang harus kita lakukan untuk menghadapi globalisasi era? Yang pertama adalah, bangun dan perkuat karakter-karakter baik berdasarkan agama. Jika kita adalah seorang muslim, pemandu hidup kita adalah islam. Yang kedua, kita harus menguasai tekhnologi untuk membangun negara kita. Yang terakhir, selalu siap untuk menghadapi berbagai macam perubahan dan kompetisi dengan menyaipkan dan mengasah kemampuan kita.

 A Frenchman was once travelling in England. He could speak English very well, but his vocabulary was not large. One day he was dining in a country hotel and wanted to order some eggs. But he didn’t know or remember how to say it in English (the word “egg”). Just then he saw a cock out of the window.

“What do you call that bird?” he asked the waiter.

“I call it a cock,” answered the waiter.

“What do you call the wife of cock?” he asked

“I call it a hen.” The waiter answered.

“What do you call the hen's children?” he asked

“I call them chickens.” The waiter told him

“What do you call the chicken before they are born?” the Frenchman asked the waiter again.

“I call them eggs.” Said the waiter

“Fine!” said the Frenchman. “ please bring me two boiled eggs.”

The Fable of Birds and Tortoise

Once upon a time, there was a big feast in the sky, all the birds were invited to a feast by the people of the sky. Tortoise was very clever and very hungry and as soon as it heard about the great feast, it began to plan how it would travel to the sky.

Tortoise went to the birds home and asked if it could go with them. The birds agreed and they each give it a feather, with which it made a pair of wings for the Tortoise.

The great day came, and Tortoise and the birds set off on their journey to the sky.

Finally, the birds and Tortoise arrived at the party. The people of the sky invited the birds to eat the delicious food they had prepared, but then Tortoise asked, “For whom have you prepared this feast?”

“for you, because you are special animals,” replied the people on the sky.

Tortoise turned in the birds and said, “Remember i am is the most special animal, cause i am the only on Tortoise who can fly. You will eat after me.”

The birds waited angrily as Tortoise ate and drank most of the feast. Then they came forward to eat, but a few of them were too angry to eat. Before flying home, each bird took back the feather it had lent Tortoise unnoticely. So, there Tortoise stood full of food and drink, but without any wings to fly home.

When the feast is over, birds and Tortoise jumped back go home, but the tortoise was surprised because he lost his wings. So, the Tortoise fell and fell and fell and landed with a great crash on the ground. It wasn’t hurt but its shell broke into pieces. fortunately, there was a good doctor in the neighbourhood. Tortoise’s wife sent for him and he collected all the bits of Tortoise’s shell and stuck them together. That is why, Tortoise’s shell is not smooth.


Dongeng Burung dan Kura-kura

Pada suatu hari, tersebutlah sebuah pesta besar diadakan di langit, semua burung diundang ke pesta oleh orang-orang dari langit. Kura-kura sangat pintar dan sangat lapar dan begitu mendengar tentang pesta besar, ia mulai merencanakan rencana bagaimana agar ia bisa pergi ke langit.

Kura-kura pun menuju ke rumah burung dan bertanya apakah itu bisa pergi bersama mereka. Para burung pun setuju dan mereka masing-masing meminjamkan bulu, agar bisa dibuat sepasang sayap untuk Kura-kura.

Hari besar pun tiba, Kura-kura dan burung-burung berangkat pada ke langit.

Akhirnya, burung-burung dan kura-kura tiba di pesta itu. Orang-orang dari langit yang mengundang burung-burung untuk ikut berpesta telah menyiapkan banyak makanan lezat. Sang Kura-kura pun bertanya, "Untuk siapa kau mempersiapkan pesta ini?"

"Untuk kalian, karena kalian adalah hewan spesial," jawab orang-orang di langit.

Kura-kura berpaling pada burung dan berkata, "Ingat aku adalah hewan paling spesial, karena akulah satu-satunya kura-kura yang bisa terbang, jadi kalian baru boleh makan setelah aku selesai makan. "

Burung-burung pun menunggu Kura-kura makan dan minum di pesta itu penuh dengan kemarahan. Kemudian mereka maju ke depan untuk makan, tapi beberapa dari mereka terlalu marah untuk makan. Sebelum terbang pulang, burung masing-masing mengambil kembali bulu yang telah dipinjamkan kepada Kura-kura tanpa disadari oleh Kura-kura. Jadinya si kura-kura berdiri penuh dengan makanan dan minuman, tetapi tanpa sayap untuk terbang pulang.

Ketika pesta sudah usai, burung-burung dan kura-kura pun melompat pulang. Tapi kura-kura terkejut karena dia kehilangan sayapnya, Kura-kurapun Jatuh, jatuh dan jatuh dan mendarat dengan kecelakaan besar di tanah. Kura-kura tidak terluka tetapi cangkangnya hancur berkeping-keping. Beruntung, ada dokter yang baik di lingkungan mereka. Istri Kura-kura membawa si kura-kura ke dokter dan ia mengumpulkan semua kepingan-kepingan cangkang Kura-kura dan berusaha merekatkannya kembali. Itulah sebabnya, sampai saat ini cangkang kura-kura tidak mulus.
